If its a non-sport, I believe his car would have 17" wheels with normal tires(non-runflats)? If thats the case, it seems to be a different problem than those previously mentioned with the style 124 wheels.
It does seem really odd to bend 3 rims w/o noticing. You can find the oem rims at a better price and the labor is pretty outrageous. I would also ask for the rims to be returned. You can have them repaired later &/or get a credit from a company that repairs them... crashparts/ wheeltechnologies/etc.
(If you do have runflats, they may be charging you more since you cannot go to any tire shop. Very few have the correct equipment to easily remove runflats from the rims.)

I also have three bent rims, two from an unavoidable pothole (left side). Can't see anything but can feel the car vibrate. Dealer checked and said they are bent, $400 each to replace. A few days ago I noticed the right front was bent also, so I'm upto $1,200 now.
Insurance said they will cover less deductible, which is unfortunately $500.
I swear Michigan has the worst roads in the civilized world. I say let the car co's located here pay for rebuilding the roads!

Yep, just got my 2004 5301 back from the dealer + 2 new rims on me. They said I hit a pothole. Maybe it was the same pothole that everyone is hitting?
My dealer charged $350 per wheel.
By the way the dealer just replaced, at their expense, all four Dunlop RF's. That was a battle. It rides like new . . . . for now.
