Nick,
Everytime I see you post your car interior, it's always naked in some way
If you have good connection with the tech, ask him to perform a swab for LED tail light for your car to see if you have any warning on iDrive.
Thanks a lot for detail pics

Yep, got my car back today as well with V. 25. and thought I'd chime in with some feedback.
I don't know what they did - but they hit the jackpot with this one....
I have actually no reason to get another software upgrade (unless the new LCI tailights retrofit I plan to get require a coding) - the car is just right.
No doubt about it - GET IT !!
PS. N62 engine owners with tapping or pinging noise from the engine : IMPORTANT upgrade on this guys > go for it. !

One of the best SW updates ever.

My Ride: 2007 550i..... ex
That's a very nice looking car, I love the new headlamps and taillamps.
Quick question about your update: I was talking to my Field Service Engineer asking him about updates, particularly on the nav side. On the new models, 3 series convertibles the navigation allows you to search for a restaurant/store by entering in the name instead of the address. My car obivously doesn't have that and he says that the update may not be out yet in this area or something. Does your car have that feature in your nav?
Thanks!
Dan

I would encourage anyone who hates how slow I-drive is to get this upgrade ASAP.
Another question: for those who have upgraded to 25 and have Nav, does it change/eliminate the force feedback in the i-drive controller? If so, what does it do now - just spin freely or what?

+1 on all the praise for this new version (tech tells me I have "25.00.04"). Among the best improvements are the MUCH-increased iDrive speed and the POI search, but my favorite BY FAR is the engine/transmission marriage. This car now feels absolutely fabulous, and the dreaded tranny slam has been eliminated (for now). Shift points thus far are much more harmonious at all speeds, particularly in low speeds and heavy traffic. I'll withhold my final judgement for a few days so I can test it under various conditions, but all signs point to this being a must-have update for all E60 drivers.
