22" rims
It's been done but never tastefully. I have seen some nice 21's on a Hartge tuned M5.

You'll most likely have to roll the fenders to make it fit.
Tire sizes and whether it clears the suspension will all depend on wheel width and offset.

That ultimate driving machine would have to be driven like a golf cart on city streets if you don't want to bend or crack those precious 22"s. Especially in SoCal.
Twenty what!?!?! 19" are deff big enough. If anything maybe 20s. But that's pushing it.... I got 19s on mine and loving it. Still rides as smooth and quiet as it did with stock rims and tires. Haha. Love the comments I y'all! At least honesty is key.

I love the way my 20's fill up the wheel wells, but anything bigger would require me to raise my car and would look ridiculous. I don't want my car to look like a caricature.

I can't really put my finger on why rims do not go well with an e60. Something about breaking out of the oem designed rims strikes an error with me.
