200k E60 545i
2004 bmw 545i just turned 200 thousand miles. Original motor and trans. Valve seals, cross over pipe, and all rubber seals. Alt seal, VC gaskets etc. Transmisson has never been opened up or had fluid change. My last one failed shortly after a bmw dealership trans service. So i haven't touched this one. I did do the tip in update my self with ista-p. All service done by me at my shop since i bought it with 98k. Orignal paint. All the suspension of course. I did take the camber and toe out of rear for better tire wear. Replacment of all cooling system. Only thing that gave out on me is the heated steering wheel. And the heads up display lens is starting to peel. Anybody else gotten to these miles with the e60 v8 n62? Just curious.

My 2005 545 has about 220K miles. All engine gaskets done at around 150K. Of course suspension parts renewed. Water pump and alternator done around 125K. No sign of valve seals nor water return pipe problems, but coolant reservoir replaced at 210K.

I hear alot of stories about the n62 not be reliable. An i was just curious about other 545 owners and there experience. Maybe they just a bad serviced car to start. As they do get expensive when they do break. And eather band aid them and sale. Then next owner gets a surprise. Like the valve seals. I found the AGA tools to be a great fix for a expensive fix. Also curious of weight of oil you use in the N62B44?
