2009 528i - drained battery or what?
#1
So I was on my way home to Dallas from Austin, Tx and half way I stopped by at the gas station. Came back and car wouldn't start. Had to call towing to take it to local BMW dealership where they told me that battery won't hold charge. Im talking about no charge what so ever. Quoted me $595 to change it and "reprogram" it, but it was going to take one day to do it (they were closing for the day).. So they jump started my car and I drove 2 hours non-stop. Come home thinking there should be some charge, but car is dead. Super dead. Has it ever happened to anyone before? Just out of the blue, dead car. No warnings, nothing. And whats with $600 dollar "reprogramming" thing?
Thanks
Thanks

as batteries age, they are more prone to suddenly dying.
and if you search, there are many threads on here about changing batteries and registering them. you could save a bunch changing it yourself.
