We don't know what kind of educational program BMW provided to sales people.

BMW provides videos to their sales and technicians monthly called round tables. They are suppose to watch theses videos and learn whats new and whats changed and to discuss. I know many many technicians Service advisors and salesman just dont watch these videos because they are either lazy or think they're too good for them and already know "enough" of their product, when in fact obviously they dont.

Yeah, that's how it's supposed to work. I'm just wondering, especially after the Roundel article, if BMW had provided those materials at the time of the OP's purchase? BMW clearly didn't provide it to the Roundel writer, someone who could have done a great job selling the product and educating BMW enthusiasts...

Hah! I'll write mine as soon as you write yours. This writer also had bad things to say about Active Steering. But the worst part was that it appeared clear from the arrticle that the writer did not understand that you could get the Sports Package without the Active Steering...

Hey guys check this out. This was the reply that my BMW agent send to me regarding the SAT. (I told him I was unhappy that I didn't get the SAT option due to his negligence of informing me the benefits of the SAT option and I wanted a solution to this, I even told him to ask his boss on what could be done.)

"I believe the 1st month of production for the sport transmission was 1-2 months after yours was produced. There is no factory upgrade available. When you ordered your car we went over every option that was available at the time."

What a load of BS... Please be aware that I've ordered this car on the MID of June. Don't tell me that the SAT option was unavailable! I replied to his email trying not to sound too rude. I've even mentioned that I was informed by "E60.net Forum" as my back up

Let's see what his reply is... I bet he's shitting his pants right now...

You're right Rudy, so I look forward to your letter to the editor about the inaccurate article in Roundel. Again, I'm no supporter of the various BMW dealers and what a poor job they do relative to other luxury car offerings, but if BMW NA or Germany or whom ever was responsible for providing the car to Roundel can only tell the writer that the SAT will be available starting w/ June production and "you can also order paddle shifters in the automatic for $500.", it tells me BMW dropped the ball, not just the salesperson. In my mind this is not much different than promising in 2004 that bluetooth would be available and it was not for some time. This very much a BMW issue, not just a dealer or salesperson issue. That is my only point...
