I have a 2005 530 with 6 speed manual. (230 hp) The window sticker listed highway mileage at 30mpg. I often drive from Richmond to Atlanta on RT 85 and get 30 to 31 actual mpg.
The BMW web site indicates the 2008 230hp 528 will get 27 and the 535 24. With all of the improvements from 2005, (new throttle system, regenerative charging, direct injection etc.) how could the mileage go down?

I guess I take back what I said-this is why bmw will continue to sell 550s at 10k over a 535 because I guess most buyers will just see the bmw figures of 300 hp v. 360 and think they are getting a much faster machine. Just shows you even someone dedicated enough to use an internet bmw forum is as uninformed as the next guy with new products. Marketing of bwm is brilliant
