Thumbs up

I seem to remember reading that the 550i Sport Package would include the "M" sport/appearance package as well.

Does anyone know if this is a "no cost" addition to the sport package?

Knowing this would really help in deciding between the 535i vs 550i.

Thanks!

Correct, the ZSP package (Sport) on the 550i includes the M-Kit ... so it's part of the ZSP option price - which we don't know yet.

However, the 535i ZSP package does not include the M-Kit, so you should count on $2,750 to install that as an extra if you want it.

And we don't yet know what the price difference will be for ZSP between the two models.

If you get it from the factory, it will show up on the Vehicle History. So if something goes wrong with the front lip on the wing, it is listed. They also know exactly what parts to order.

The 550 Sport's aero package apparently comes with side sill extenders. I only recall front and rear bumpers on the old aero package. It this an add for the new model?

From the Strategy BMW Dealer Bulletin (MY2008 5 Series Facelift) which was posted in a different thread;

550i Sport Package includes Aerodynamic Kit that contains body colored side rocker panels and body colored front and rear bumpers.

Sounds like the same set up as the m sport package which has been around in Europe for a while now.

I think that that's correct and I think that the suspension and exhaust may be different as well. Do any of our European members know the differences between their M Sport package and our old Sport package?

The old M-Kit also has side sills, so it's not any different than the new Sport Package.

The real question is : Do you get M5 TIRES (read: NON-thumpflats)? That alone would be worth the price of admission.

Cheers,

I cannot find the bulletin, but I am sure I read somewhere that they are non-runflats and that there is a short shifter also available with the 6spd.
