Fixed - 2008 535xi cranks but no start
Just purchased non running car, previous owner said fuel pump error came up but Indy mechanic botched install. Car has 160k miles and has not run in a year or two. I was able to get it to run for about 10 seconds using starting fluid but it will not start once that burns off. I installed new BMW battery and confirmed voltage at low pressure pump and confirmed spark. The pump wasn’t seated properly so I purchased new low pressure pump and sending unit and replaced just to be safe. Used OBD scanner to confirm pump and fuel rail pressure which shows low pressure pump at 5962.10 hPa.
I have confirmed spark, checked all fuses and scanned the control module in the trunk with no errors other than a DSC error. I used a stethoscope to confirm the injectors are firing. The car stumbles and occasionally starts to run for a second but always dies. Any thoughts on what to check next, DME, map sensor, timing, etc? I'm out of ideas. Thanks.

Kept chasing issues
After checking the injectors with a meter and eventually a noid light and re-checking the computer, relays and of course fuel I decided to change the plugs. Took a couple of weeks to get the right socket due to a post office snafu but new plugs did the trick. First cylinder was badly fouled and all plugs looked cooked. Started first try and runs great. I was able to get it to run off starting fluid and checked it with a test light but didn’t realize how bad the plugs were, lesson learned.
