I have a 535i and the transmission is slipping, fault codes 4F81, 4F85, 4F8A and 4F95. I've changed the seals, oil, filter and the solenoids, but is still slipping. My next step is to change the mechatronic, or the whole transmission. I found a mechatronic from a 2007, 335i but they are not the same. I can get the transmission from a 2008 528i, but I don't think that the mechatronic is the same, even though both transmission are 6HP21. I can get the TCM off my car. Can I replace my transmission with the one from the 528i? Would it work on my car?
