I changed my 545's transmission fluid and oil pan/filter last year, but did not change the sealing sleeve since it seemed impossible to do so without supporting the transmission on a stand and removing the rear support. The sealing sleeve is now leaking and I am still unable to figure out how to access it to replace it. I know some members have done it on 6 cylinder e60s which have a narrower transmission (6HP19), but the V8's have a larger one (6HP26)with very little clearance. One suggestion I received was to loosen the rear support bolts, but I don't see how that will help. Has any 545 / 550 owner done a do-it-yourself Mechatronic sealing sleeve replacement and if so, can you provide some suggestions on how it is done? Thanks!

Nevermind. I got impatient and got quotes from a dealer for $600+ and an indie for $410. Guess where I am taking it....
