Took the car to BMW today to check it out but they couldn't replicate the issue. Basically, when I stop at a light, particularly on a decline, once the light turns green I let my foot off the brake to accelerate. Once I start to press the accelerator it feels like the transmission was in neutral and then it slams into gear. I thought someone rear ended me the other day. Has anyone ever had this issue? Fortunately the car is under warranty but if I can't prove that the issue exists, I am not sure how I will ever get it fixed. On a positive note, my sunroof was making a lot of noise when closed. The dealership fixed it with a new seal at no charge...it was under warranty. Quiet as can be now!

Thank you for the recommendation. I will try it and see how it goes!
Search the forum for "transmission slam'. The ZF auto has a design flaw that has been dealt with in various ways. Some successful, some not. I have not had the problem for some time, but I am driving mostly in manual mode. You can also learn to avoid it in auto mode.
