I was reading the manual last night and I came across language that specifically said MP3 could be played in the dash and the changer. This is good news since this would seem to indicate that a code update may enable the changer soon. This was mentioned in the context of the single disk unit. There was also a section about the CD+DVD unit, which also said would play MP3.

That is a great news. I was wondering that for a long time, because the E90's
CD changer does play MP3 according to the BMWUSA's website.

mmm maybe they come with a different cd changer.

That would be good, i would probably trade my changer for a new one if that's all i need to play mp3. (I have bussiness radio )

Well the reason I posted was because my 2006 doesn't yet play MP3s from the changer, even though it does from the dash. There had been speculation that the changer might never play MP3s.
