2006 BMW 550i Starting Problem

Thanks for all the comments. Too bad I still had time to turn the music off and it was still failing to start.

I am thinking fuel pump or fuel filter.

That said, I hear ya about the mexican food!

Bumping an old thread, but my '06 550i just did this twice today, never happened before. I recently had my injectors cleaned, as I was having some very slight vibrations when idle (no RPM fluctuations), I see that walt had his replaced. I wonder if you found out what was causing this.

Me also! When it died, the dash indicated fuel problem.

I believe I had the exact same problem as the OP, at least mine looked identical as his vid. Turned out to be an injector in my case. It was probably leaking very small amounts of fuel after the car was turned off, which caused the long cranking afterwards.

I replaced all 8 and the problem has never occurred since.
