Hi all,

I recently replace one of the low beam HID bulb.
The shop I went did the job with D1S bulb.
It works fine but the problem is that the color of the new bulb is yellow (a bright yellow)
As soon as I start the car, the new bulb is white, same as the factory HID.
But it changes to yellow color in few seconds.
Has anyone had this problem?
Thanks for sharing.

Find out of the temperature of the bulb is the same?

But honestly, it's recommended to change out both bulbs together if one goes out because the bulbs themselves color shift over time. Except for a particular few, which are more expensive.

Ok, just did a swap with a factory HID bulb, and it still turns into yellowish color after few seconds.
I remember when I first purchased my E60 (it was brand new), the low beam lights did not have the yellowish color.

Is it normal to have yellowish color for relatively new HID bulbs?
My tech guy told me it will take some time to burn the gas and the color will change.

Btw, I agree with you nomis_nehc.

If you dont want yellowish color, then you should've got the 6000k bulb instead.

Depending on the bulb, it may take 20 hours or more for its stable color to show. Did you ever find out the temperature of the bulbs?

Should be a D2S bulb.
