After numerous alternator tests passed I decided to get it rebuilt anyway and the shop was amazed when they took it apart. The brushes were completely gone and so was the voltage regulator. Yet it still produced just enough power to fool the computer into thinking it was working fine. I had a feeling it was the alternator all along. I never liked how it only produced 13.79V at idle. Now it produces 14.14v at idle with the rebuilt alternator and the car runs just fine.
