I wanted to follow up and mark this post resolved, I got the car running it turned out to be a worn valve cover gasket. I replaced that and the car fired up immediately! I put the old gasket next to the new one side by side and the old one is much smaller having shrunk down from the heat. This is why there were no faults detected that would keep it from starting up, so maybe this experience will save someone else hours of time and money trying to figure out their crank no start problems.. I would add "check/replace valve cover gaskets" to your list of possible suspects.
