Default 2006 530i Water pump replacement question

So, I know these fail. Replaced my first one at 90,000. Now at 203,000. Wonder if I'm pushing my luck, or if I just ride it out until it fails. Not taking it on long trips. Curious how long some have gone without needed to replace the water pump?

Mine went at about 130k. I suppose you could just let it go, but remember, you're stuck wherever you are the moment it fails. No driving it any further without ruining your engine.

I have one on hand. The first one I changed at around 120k to upgrade. The second one went around 20k. The third one is good and I'm holding on.

When your second water pump died at 20,000 was it Pierburg, Continental or eBay Chinese?

My first belt-driven water pump started making bearing noises (and the pulley wobbled) around 80K. My second started slow leaking coolant from the weep hole around 130K.

In both my cases, they started to show symptoms, so it gave me time to source a new one.

You're lucky my second gave while my wife was on the interstate and she did not know what to do. I told her to pull over on the side of the road and I would be right there. Had it up and running in no time. I always have important spares around.

Mine went out at around 130k. It didn't leave me stranded because the car went into limp mode. I then let my indy replace it and the thermostat for $1,200.
