My Ride: 2006 525i Titanium Silver, All Weather, XM (Aftermarket)
Hi All,
I have a 525i (2006) and drive 60 miles pure highway each way to/from work. So, after just two years I have 66,000 miles on my 525i. When the car was newer, I remember how live the acceleration was between 2k-4k. You could be cruising around 50 mph and press the accelerator 1/2 way and it would almost leap ahead (at least that's my recollection). More recently, maybe the last 9 months or so, the same acceleration seems to react much less lively...
I use good gas almost religiously, either Shell v-power or BP/Amoco Ultimate. Periodically but not regularly, I have used fuel injection cleaners.
One idea I had was a change of plugs, but they technically won't be ready until I hit 100,000 miles.
Any thoughts? Thanks in advance for your ideas.
Mark

Reset the automatic transmission... I forget the procedure... I'll have to search for it... you can too... but it was somthing like turn the key to position 2 and hold the gas pedal down ALL the way... past the kickdown position for >30 seconds and then turn off the car and then restart and drive away...
maybe someone can chime in. I'll do a search and see if i can find it.

other than that, maybe youre just too used to driving it and miss that sensitive throttle? just another guess.

The "Key fob in position 2-on, and hold pedals for 25/30 seconds" resets the transmission memory to factory settings...this might solve the problem you're having since it has learnt your driving style for the past 66k miles...
***I've tried this before and it worked for me, and at that time i've only driven the car for not more than 15k kilometers...i felt the difference, so i think in your case, this will help alot...good luck on the attempt.
