2005 Sunroof closing

My Ride: 2007 Sapphire Black Metallic 525i. Beige Dakota Leather, Premium package, bluetooth, BMW Assist, Xenon adaptive lights, Sirius radio
Any one in the USA with a 2005 that can close the sunroof with the key out before a door is opened like my 2001 325i did?
My windows work after the key is out, but, my sunroof does not. Owners manual says it should , but, this may be for other countries?
