Unhappy 2005 BMW 545i acceleration problem

So, a few weeks ago I added a bottle of that stop leak stuff that you can buy at walmart to see if it would stop the smoke build up in my exhaust when idling. (Valve seal or valve cover gasket problem i'm pretty sure).
I had already added a bottle previously when I did my last oil change and read on the bottle that you use one for X amount of quarts of oil so I bought another one.
Well, shortly after I started to notice that when I gassed it in 3-6th gear; and i mean GAS it, the RPM's would climb rapidly like it's supposed to but then would drop down and then gradually pick back up.
So now when im in 6th gear going about 60 on cruise and I flick the cruise control to pick up 5 more MPH, it'll climb about 2 or 3mph and then the cruise would abruptly shut off when the RPMs do that little drop.

Does anybody have any idea what it might be? I thought maybe the Lucas stop leak made the oil too thick and the motor was struggling to push through it. So I changed my oil today and used the 0w-40 european car full synthetic formula and went for a drive and still having the same problem.

Can someone please give me some pointers on what part I need to replace next? Every month the list just grows...

What oil did you have before you added the stop leak? It is quite possible that the stop leak (never use that stuff in high performance engines, btw) caused problems with the valvetronic etc selenoid system on the car. It might take some time for the "new" proper oil to thin out the stop leak. Try another oil change.

Well when I first got the car I used the 5w 30 but read on a forum somewhere that the 0w 40 would be better.
Move used it on my last 3 changes. I’ve just been dreading changing the seals because it seems like such a big job. And I haven’t been able to find any guides for it.

But that hat makes sense I’ll just pay attention when I drive for the next few days to see if The problem goes away. I definitely won’t be using the stop leak any more.
If the problem persists though, what else do you think it could be?
