Default 2005 525i - Engine Oil Leak

Hey everyone, first time poster, long time lurker.

Have a engine oil leak dripping onto my exhaust and getting burnt into smoke. Would this be a DIY or take it to the shops?

Thanks for the help!

I'm debating on doing mine myself, due too cylinder gaskets 3,4,5 are on their way out. I noticed when I recently did my plugs and ignition coils. Main questions are do I need to adjust valves? Second I have two bolts that snapped off how difficult would this be to tap out because they are aluminum.

M54 has hydraulic valve lifters, no adjustment required (or possible).

no. the last production BMW engine that had solid lifters and needed valve adjustments was the S54, which has been out of production for over 10 years. the last non-M engines that needed valve adjustments were the M20 and M30, which ended production in mid-1990s..
