My Ride: 2006 525XI, Jet black on Dakota beige. Premium and winter packages. I consider myself a purist and intend to keep my car absolutely stock and shiny.
2008 328I Convertible, Sapphire black on beige interior. Premium package, NAV, iPod adapter.
Retired: 2002 325I, Titanium silver on black leather. Premium package. Absolutely stock and proud of it.
I agree with the sentiment that you should buy the car for what you like and not worry about future buyers. If you keep your car long enough it will lose most its value, anyway.

Good luck with the car purchase. I think you should be able to negotiate it below 15 Million, even with the Tan leather

hey, i got a 2005 520d, but i got it remapped. its something close to the 530i on paper. ofc it wont b that fast, but im pleased with it. so im sure that 530D will b very fast. esp the pull from still!
btw, how come you guys have to mention "with angel eyes" after saying Bi-xenon, isnt it a "must" that either bi xenon, xenon or halo will have angel eyes with it??????

My Ride: 2005 BMW 545i
Go for it!
Although I'll have to bring up a point against DD_545i (your response was awesome btw). In the case of seat colors, usually Tan, Red, etc. are rare because they are special ordered pieces and cost more which a lot of people won't justify when they buy the car new. But you are right in that it's not for everyone and conservative colors are generally more popular.
In the case of the E46 M3, Alpine White/Imola Red interior is the most sought after combo and consequently, one of the rarest. Cinnamon and Imola Red interiors were definitely the most loved interiors but by far the rarest (except for individual interior colors like Kiwi, Laguna Seca Blue, or Ecru). I've seen a Laguna Seca Blue E46 M3 with Kiwi green interior and I thought that was painful to my eyes yet got a lot of interest because they're so rare.
Get the car for what you want, there will be no greater joy. Paying a premium for the color combo and options you want is totally worth it. Get it, drive it, and never look back!

Hi there, I've just found this message board and was wondering if anyone could help me. I'm thinking of buying a 2005 (55) 530d. I think it's relatively rare, because the car has the upgraded climate control package inside and comes with a manual gear box. Most I've seen are automatic. I'd much prefer the manual, but do you think this will make it more or less desirable when I come to sell it? The car also has a tan interior, which I love - most I've seen are black, so I'm hoping this will add something when I come to sell on.
The car also has 'Bi Xenon' headlights. Do these lights come with angel eyes? I'm not sure which 5 series came with or without them.
Any help is much appreciated. Oh, and it's done 45,000 miles, FBMWSH and is on at ?15,000k. Good deal I think!
Thanks in advance,
Gavin
