What do you mean swaying? My car handles like it is on rails. I agree with the stiff ride and jolts over some bumps but stopping, turning and acceleration are very strong points of this car.
Wide tires, if designed into the car, would not cause swaying.

The swaying doesn't happen everywhere. But it does happen (predictably) in a specific area of the 405 fwy in Los Angeles. It feels like the car is pulling left and right as I drive over areas of the road surface that are uneven perpendicular to my direction of travel. In other words, imagine driving over long not very pronounced bumps that roll sideays to the car's travel. (Does that make sense?)

When you are driving in lanes that are used by trucks very often you might have that problem, since the wheels are wider then the grooves. Just move out of the groove and it should all be fine.

I think what you are experiencing is Tramlining. On the 405 where they have expanded the lanes this is normal especially with wide, low profile runfats.

Originally I had no static problems. The static began once I had the navigation retrofit done and they updated my software. Version 13.3 still has not fixed the problem.

[/quote]It does not happen on all surfaces at high speeds. I was concerned because I drove that same stretch every day with my 325i and never noticed the problem. Sounds like the "sway" this is a road surface issue.
