Interesting. I am going to take out the camshaft sensor tomorrow to test it and its good this will be the next thing I will check. Is it possible to know if it is bad before taking off the cover? I have read that if there is oil in there it is bad, is this true?

Looks like you purge vent valve might be stuck in open p0441/444 codes, replace part #13907506739.
just don’t get the cheap Chinese ones!!! As they will also stay open after refueling, giving you same problem.

Well here is the update we have all been waiting for:
After many hours trying to get the sensors out and back in (If only BMW put them in the front of not the back under everything else) and finally figuring out the INPA software, the same codes have returned.
I switched the camshaft sensors, cleared the codes, started the car and it idled really really rough for about 10 seconds and the error code popped up and shut the car down. I then checked the eccentric shaft sensors only to find them bone dry. When I pulled up the codes again I got:
P0330- Random misfires detected
P0305- Cylinder 5 Misfire Detected
P0308- Cylinder 8 Misfire Detected
P0306- Cylinder 6 Misfire Detected
P0307- Cylinder 7 Misfire Detected
The missing 4 purge and emissions codes don't concern me as much as the missing camshaft code. Is the missing code indicative of anything or do the car just not run long enough for it too come up? Can anybody make anything of this?
Today I tried everything I can think of to try, so any new suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Yes I plan on replacing the part but it seems it is not as big as an issue as the misfiring, rough idle, not starting etc. Unless you think those are connected to the purge valve?

What will that show? what kind of leaks could cause all misfires?
Also I have never smoke tested the actual engine before, what does that involve for a BMW? I have used one for the coolant system on this car a while back.

A lot of people do the test through the intake. Look at the video to see how to do one yourself spending the least money. If you have an air compressor you can make your own tool with a gallon paint can and other small parts (this is what I did). Either way it accomplishes what you're trying to do.
