2004 bmw 530i problems

My Ride: 2004 bmw 530 black on black blacked out headlights and tail lights

hello

i have 2004 bmw 530i

just having few problems with it

took it in for a oil change. and had 2 major problems

frist. tranny wus leaking oil. pan had a crack. all that is being taken care under extented warranty.

but the other major problem

wus something with the steering control system.

something called SZL system which cost around 1000 to change. THAT IS NOT COVERED UNDER MY EXTENTED WARRANTY.

and i dont have money to pay 1000 for this szl system.

any one have ideas on how i can get the warranty to take care of this.

its aftermarket warranty continental...

This is the risky thing about aftermarket warranty. They all sound good in the beginning and then you find out the real story when it's needed. Sorry to hear what happened. Where did you get the quote from the dealer or the independent shop? Maybe you can buy the part and have them do the work. Garry @ Newport BMW give 25% discount to E60/5series.net members. GL

yea. they make it sound good when your buying. when it comes to using it. then its the run arounds.

i went to independent shop he said the cheapest he can do it for is 850. thats parts n labor.

i guess the parts around 650

Yes, this is true. But it is also true of the BMW Original Owner Extended Warranty. As with everything, you have to read the fine print as they all have exclusions such as the OP is finding out which can lead an expensive surprise...

I also bought extended warranty but not BMW. So far so good. We should all know when we purchase this car. Anything break after the original warranty expired is going to cost $$$$. They figure that if we could afford an expensive car like this, we should be able to afford the repair cost too .....

As much as its true, I still think that this is horsesh!t.
