2004 545i still rough idle
I just took my 2004 545i out of the shop for the 3rd time. I replaced the vacuum pump, coil packs, spark plugs then they said they completed the SI B11 07 06 as well as a fuel service and the car still idles rough. Adtvantage BMW of Houston is now telling me I need a new AC compressor because it is drawing too many amps and that will fix my idle. Wow. My AC works just fine and it blasts cold air.
What now? I do not know.. I will clean the MAF sensor and look at the Manifold Adjuster, DISA valve and see if that may be a fix. Any ideas?

Thanks Evolution!. I did and used the old covers because the new ones did not have the nipples on the. I still have that same problem but have the new valves. I was also informed to replace the crankcase ventilation hoses. I would think I need a smoke test first. Heck , I do not know. I hate to pay for a MAF sensor, Manifold adjuster and hoses and the problem not fix but I may have to. I just do not know which to start with . . .maybe the manifold adjuster?

I am very curious as well. I have a 550i that i cannot get rid of an idle vibration. I have tried everything i can think of. Unless its Valvetronic or software related. All i can think of.

I have this problem as well. Mines very slight but I notice when its colder out it will idle even a little rougher until it warms up. RPM seems to jump a bit more with colder temperatures. It has to be some sort of vacuum leak. If you end up getting a smoke test let us know what you find.

I will let you all know. I am just trying to find the exact DIY for the crankvalve hoses and exact location of the Manifold Adjuster. If anyone can help here I will appreciate it. I will spend the money now if I do it. I do not mind doing so but I do want to see if that DISA valve is broken or not (inside of the adjuster). It is simply aggravating idling and the car just wants to car at a red light too. I was also told this weekend that it is the nature of these engines. I can't believe that.
