i called the dealer and they told me i am going to have to talk to the service manager about getting the mirrors replaced because it may not be covered under the CPO warranty.

is this something that should be covered? anyone have any information regarding it?

Thanks

According to BMWusa.com it is NOT covered under the CPO.

Though some dealers under good faith will take care of things for you or at least give you a break on the cost. As with most part I'm sure the mirror glass has bigger price tag on it then you or I would ever think.

It is not covered under CPO but IMHO if BMW has sourced side view mirror glass that is sub-standard and the mirroring discolors in 3-4 years they need to correct the situation immediately and without debate.

I would not accept exterior surface deterioration in a KIA ... there is NO REASON to live with it with a BMW.

This is "conditional" - on the condition that the glass has received reasonable care and there is no evidence of abuse - eg, cracked or chipped left un-repaired.

If your dealer is less than understanding and refuses to correct this product failure I recommend you contact BMWNA directly.
