Hi all,
Been trying to remove manifold in order to remove swirl flaps.
I keep having problems and this time I couldnt actually remove the manifold. All the nuts were removed and loosened, the dipstick nut was removed but there is something attached to the back of the manifiold which will lift up by about 1-2 cm but thats all. Something is holding the manifold back.
My manifold does not have a sensor plugged in on the right hand side (as you look at it from the front of the engine) I presume that the map sensor is at the back of the manifold but how on earth can i remove it?
I can just about fit my hand behind the manifold and that is with the insulation foam removed.
I cant picture whatever is attached to the manifold and how to remove? do i lpush it up, down left or right?
And how easy is it to put it back?

I HAVE FOLLOWED SWIRL FLAP REMOVAL GUIDE ON THIS FORUM BUT MY MANIFOLD DOES NOT HAVE A SENSOR ON THE SIDE BUT I PRESUME ITS AT THE BACK BUT NO OTHER E60 HAS IT LIKE THAT????
THE E39 HAS IT AT THE BACK APPARANTLY BUT THE MANIFOLD DESIGN LOOKS DIFFERENT???
