hello all
At the beginning of this month, I bought a 0757 plate 530i M Sport. It had just 3,100 miles on and is a smashing thing.
Anyway, today on my way to a meeting it started running really roughly, lost a lot of oomph and was clearly not happy. Although I am no mechanic, I suspected it was down to 5 cylinders for some reason - no notice on the dash etc.
So, I called Assist who said they would send someone to meet me at my destination (about 9 miles) and he would be there at 4 (this is about 3).
Anyway, he rolled up in the 5 Touring laden with bits and tools. The diagnostics showed him that the injector on #1 cylinder was dead.
I thought hey ho, here we go with the tow truck and a 118d for a few days... BUT NO, the guy said he would fix it and it would take about 40 minutes.
It actually took 42 minutes to swap it out and replace with a new one from somewhere in the depths of his parts box, but it was all done and is as good as it should be.
So, whilst I am a bit miffed that it went wrong, I am delighted with the Assist service. I called the helpline back and told them to be sure that the guy's boss heard about his excellent service and attitude.
