Just looked at the gallery and noticed what rims you get in America with your car.
Completely different from what I was offered here in the Netherlands. For example: my 11-2004 535d had the 138 as factory wheel and i paid extra to get the 124 as factory option. At first i wanted the 123, dropped them from the list because they had too much VW content imho.

Can i conclude from what i read here that you can't get another rim than standard as a factory option?

Each country decides what their standard wheels for each car will be, and then most european countries allow you to choose some others as a cost option

But the USA seems to only allow wheels changes if you take the sport package, and then you only get the one wheel that was selected for the sport package.

They have to buy the other types from the dealer after the car is delivered

i would be happy if any of those 18" wheels were standard on a 530... here in europe we have 16" as standard...
it would be a shame to have a parit of that ugly wheels on a 5er.

I like the sport wheels on the 545 better that any other wheel that comes standard on all E60's in the US. Is one of the reasons I ordered the 545 vs. the 530.

The sport wheels on the 530 look very close to the wheels on 325i.

Are you talking about these?

Here in SA we can get them on the 545i for an extra $1000 (US)

Funny how you say that coz over here in oz, 124s are the most expensive wheels you can get. We have the option for 123s at approximately $750 less than the 124s.

Just interesting how different countries value there wheels.

i have the 123 sports 18" on my 530 since day one and i adore these wheels. i think the 545 124 18" looks nicer, yet both are gorgoeus.
i am currently running m5 wheels with dunlop m3 winters as my snows, looks incredible too.
i will post some pics when the weather gets warmer, it is -18C with 5 inches of snow outside.
:'(
i just ordered a set of 124 18" 545 wheels for my car, cannot wait till spring!

dont ask why i need 3 sets of wheels for my car, though i love shoes...

i love SA, been there 3 times, once each year. nice to know there are SA members here.
cape town is now 26C with gorgoeus blue sky...
