Is 13 MPG city normal for a 550i, being easy on it?

Yea, sounds right. You got to remember that you have a 4.8L engine its gonna guzzle gas in the city.

20 is what I usually get with mixed regular driving. If you like to have fun with the car it'll probably be lower than that tho.

Are you making sure to use 93 octane gas? Sounds a little to extreme, unless your flooring it at every light. Do you have 20'' cast wheels?!!

All stock, i just bought it so i decided to tear into it and replace cooling system, VCG, alternator seal. Cleaning injectors and stuff like that. Going to scope the cylinders to ensure they are clean, compression check, etc. Love the car but i am getting conflicting answers on the mileage. Even all the forum post about it are completely at odds.

Honestly, that's better than I usually get in the city. I have a 12-mile, round-trip, start/stop daily commute within the city, and I usually get 11 mpg in the city.

On the freeway, it's a different story: with good traffic flow and an average 70 mph, I can get 25 - 28 mpg fairly easily.

My 550's getting 19-20 mpg mixed. I was in Philly for a whole day, it showed 17mpg. That's the lowest I've seen on my car. Btw, I just hit 82k miles. With cel, brake errors, and dtc error. Lol

Looking for city driving stats only please. The highway stats are messing the numbers up. Like i said every thread out there and all responses have been "yes its normal, no there is something wrong, i get that too, that's too low, i get 70 miles mixed driving" So Its confusing!

Thank you all for your input though. Just trying to figure out if there is actually an issue with fuel consumption or if this is truly normal.
