The damn wipers are too slow. I had to pull over twice the other day in a rain storm. Even on the fastest setting they couldnt keep up. Also the rain sensor doesnt respond quick enough. A while back I had them check the rain sensor and they said it was normal...

Just drive faster and the drops will disperse quicker!

Yeah, they sucked on my E39 and my E60. As for the rain sensors, it's useless. I rarely use it. Every time I need them to wipe, they don't, so I end up hitting the handle manually. That sensor needs to be right where I look out. Oh wait...then I won't be able to see. Hahahahaha!

rain? we don't get that here in so cal..haha j/k. I found the rain sensor and manual speeds to work just fine...just throw some rainex (do they still make that) on your windshield, that should help

+1 on the Rain-x, it helps clear the windshield with just the air rushing past!

I agree RainX works well... I use it on all my windows...

I myself are not too keen on the wiper technology on the E60... Rain sensor does not work as it should... I find myself always needing to manually overide the sensor to make sure my windshield stays clear.

Definitley needs an engineering overhaul...

I'll add my agreement to the comments that the rain sensor needs to be made better (in case BMW reads this forum).

When you clay your car, use it on your windshield too. When you wax, your car, use it on the windshield. It works just a good or even better than Rain X.

You drive your beautiful 550i in the rain?
