Thanks for clarifying. The manual was less than clear. I've only driven SMG equipped cars for short periods and didn't know that. On the other hand, control functions on German cars are not always "logical."

I agree that it's likely any one of those three conditions will deactivate sport mode. Actually that's exactly the way it works now on the SMG -- sport mode is turned off if any of those three things occur...

My car is in transit on the Hudson Leader. Getting closer! 7.09.07 at Port Hueneme (west coast) hopefully only a few days later until pick up at dealer...how's everyone else doing on schedule/delivery of their cars with "sport auto"? (i'm surprised there hasnt been a review online somewhere on an auto blog, US/INTL etc?)

what are the chances....dealer just called me today to let me know that my 2008 550 sport has left the port. Left port on June 13, ETA is July 9th. count down starts
waiting...2008 sport w/ sport auto, nav, comfort access, cold package, heated rear seats, active steering, logic 7, rear shades, Ipod/USB

I haven't gotten any "official" updates from my dealer but as of now, mine is still awaiting a vessel. Did you guys pass me? My VIN isn't returning anything on the Wallenius Wilhemsen site so I imagine it's not on a boat yet...
It looks like my next chance is on the Patriot (the boat my first E60 came in on) tomorrow...

Oh well, either way it will arrive soon enough and probably before ours on the west coast...sounds like you have it dialed in on the Patriot - your "preferred" Auto Cargo Ship of choice. Happy sailing!

Well the Patriot hasn't sailed yet so I'm still hoping I'm either on it or just about to get on it.
