I need to replace the outside temperature sensor on my 2006 530i. Does anyone know where it's located on this SPECIFIC model of E60?
I've searched numerous forums, threads and Googled it. It appears that BMW puts them in a different place on each model. Some are in front of the right front wheel well, some behind the bumper below the radiator, some horizontally mounted and some vertical, etc. I can't find mine and I don't want to start tearing my car apart on a wild goose chase. Please help if you know where its located and what needs to be removed to access it.

The outside or ambient temp. sensor is located behind the bottom grille on your bumper..on the right hand side...you cant miss it..looks like a little aerial.

Thanks guys. How is the best way to access it? Also, is it on the right side meaning the passenger side?

Here's what the sensor looks like. I gather that the left front wheel well is a common location...

However, on my MY2006 U.S. model 530xi wagon (E61), it's located just inside the driver's side of the six-section center grille below the front license plate area. Perhaps that's an alternate location due to the additional AWD running gear.

What symptoms were you having? I have an 06' as well and the cluster is showing about 10 degrees hotter than the actual outside temperature. I just started a thread on it:
