Thats right, the title says it all. They called today to tell me my 06 525 is stuck in Charleston until the EPA tests the emissions on the new engines.? It makes me wonder why BMW didn't head this off before the shipment arrived.? I know its was built to US EPA specs.? Should be in in about a week, so they say.? We'll see!? Ordered in Jan, 1st BMW, can't wait!? Has anyone out there gotten an 06 yet?? Maybe West coast?
Its amazing isn't it? Spoke to some other dealers within 100 mi of here who said not until Sep...they need to get their head out of their a##!
Dealer called Fri, said the car is still at the Processing Center and should be here this week. We'll see! Anyone know exactly what is done at the Processing Center outside of arranging transportation to the dealers and I guess this last week...EPA testing.
Im sorry to say that I think that some dealers (or just some sales associates) will say ANYTHING to get a sale now, rather than (maybe) later. I was unaware that the 545i would become the 550i until a sales associate happened to say, " . . . and the new V8 won't be in the 5-series in 2006." Bells went off, I went home and Googled...and the rest was history. Found this site along the way
