Jochen - I agree the sport seats are probably sufficient for most people. I, however, enjoy the adjustable lateral shoulder and body supports. These seats can be conformed to fit your body like a glove. Some may not like this. As always try them both. If your dealer doesn't have them than go to another .

Comfort Seats: Maybe The sport seats are fine. I have the sport seats with the lumbar support and I like this alot. However once you get the lumbar support, you might as well pop for $700 more and get comfort seats. Best thing to do is to try them for yourself.
Sports Package: YES
Transmission: If you like a stick then get the SMG. Its a manual transmission. If you cannot drive a stick then the SMG is not for you. Get the Step. If you are not sure get the Step. The 545 is a rocket with the Step in sport mode. Lots of fun shifting the Step in manual mode. Some complain about the jerkiness of the SMG. Others love it. Step is better for trade-in value or resale.

The 545 is a whole lotta fun. It is awesome.

if you ordered nav, i'd definitely get hud, too. not only a cool gadget, convenience feature as well .

clear bra or not. you can simply look at your hood/bumper/foglights areas now. how many chips/dings you have. it also all depends on how often you drive on the highways/freeways. if your answer "a lot" for both questions, then you should get the clear bra .

btw, are you going to trade in your 530? will you get a big hit ?

I could sell privately for about 40 to 41k but to me is not worth the headache. Besides I'm only paying the tax on the difference of my trade as opposed to paying tax on the entire new vehicle price (trade in towards a new purchase is 37,300 X sales tax where i register my car = 41k and change)

In other words my car is still worth about what i paid for it in November 2003 give or take 500 to 1000 bucks! Not bad for a years worth of driving 7k miles

i have my car for 5 months and only got 1,800 miles on it. i checked and i'll lose at least $4-5k if i sell it privately :'(.

So ordering the Navi with HUD will give me a better 8.8 Navi screen, different or better dashboard and better (thicker) or different windshield? I would assume more complex wiring though.
