I had a similar issue on an older car I used to have. It turned out the intake hose had a crack in it. It looks normal at idle but would widen when I applied the accelerator as the car "took a bigger breath".

Like mentioned, I had a stumbling issue for quite a while and it was very annoying. Mainly after car sat for 7+ hrs. The problem lasted for only a minute, then al was ok until the next time it was cold. I ran a diagnostic and nothing, after about a month or so I finally got the CE light and then I had a code to look at. It was a misfire in #6 cyl. Changed plugs and she was like a brand new 21 year old chick! If your plugs have more than 30K I would probably start there if you don't have any good leads.

Another thing to do is clean your MAF sensor. I haven't cleaned mine, but I do know this little thing can cause your car to feel like it's vibrating and shuttering.

OK - cleaned the MAF, replaced BMC filter with stock, and even took out my sprintbooster - And still nothing has improved =/

I'm just really trying anything.

Just so we're clear as to what's happening:
So, this stuttering, only happens between 30-40 mph while cruising or very lightly accelerating between this MPH range only. It doesn't happen at any other time.

I think I'm just going to wait for the check engine light to go on now. Lame.

Thanks to everyone for their inputs though - I really appreciate it!

Problem solved!!!

So, here's what you have to do - it's a frikkin tranny reset!!

Drive in manual mode M5 for 5 minutes at over 60MPH, then switch it to M6 for 1 minute, then back to M5 for 2 minutes, then back to auto.
Note: the car is going to sputter continuously when you have it on M5 for the 5 minutes.

That was it - drove around for 30 minutes afterwards and no issues what so ever!! Unbelievable!!!

Is there a cheat sheet tricks thread on this forum - we really need one if not - this was an amazing trick!!

Anyway, I'll report back in a week to see if this is a possible long term fix.
Then, I'll just need to find that post again so I can buy that guy a beer or 10 if he's local!!

Forums FTW!!!!!

Just tried this trick. Let's see if it works after I drive around again tomorrow.

Nice tip!

Good luck!! If you were experiencing the exact same problem it should work.

Let me know how things turn out!

I'm still amazed - if I took it to the stealership they prob would have told me I needed a new tranny!

It was a google search - but, I still can't find the forum link who I got this from.

But, I followed his instructions to a T.

And he even said that the car will sputter like crazy in M5 mode for the 5 minutes - which it did - so don't freak out to when it happens.
