I've been experiencing a problem with my 2004 530i with 80k miles. I would be driving, and in the cluster, it would go from "D" to blank and it would slip into neutral. It happens occasionally, but it wouldnt throw off a code. Cant distinguish the exact problem, but assuming it could be the tranny. Has anyone else had an experience with this problem? thanks!

oops i forgot. I would have to pull over turn off the car/ pull the key out of the ignition/ and turn it back on and it would start up normally.

I haven't read anything similar to this problem yet ever since I got my E60 but from what you're saying, sounds like computer software problems more than the tranny slipping itself. May be the mechatronix needs to be reconfigure. I think there was a member here who experiences the "slam" issue and the dealer will reset his mech. Do you experience any "slam" problem or any fluid leak around the sleeve?
