Hi bmmers!

I recently bought a 530i (2005) model and this is the first time I bought a bmw so I apologize for my ignorance. I'm having a few issues with my iDrive, I was hoping someone here could help me out.

1) I can't save any changes on settings in iDrive e.g. saving radio stations in "memorized stations" list, its gone when I restart the car.

2) Can't seem to connect via Bluetooth. When I go into Communications Menu, There's a line saying "[] Bluetooth communication is active", I can't seem to press on it and activate it from there. I went to the service center to ask if my car needs bluetooth to be installed, they said your car already have the bluetooth installed in it. (by checking the chasis number)

3) I wanted to install AUX input on my car, but they (service center) said its not possible for your model at all :s

4) I asked them if I can upgrade the iDrive, and their reply was: "Theres no way to upgrade it". I don't think thats true though. If its not, can someone help me upgrade the iDrive myself?

5) I don't have any navigation installed, I was hoping if the software (Business Navi) is available online somewhere for Middle East. (UAE to be specific), the dealer is asking AED.xxxx/- for it :S

Please reply considering that I'm new to all, so it'll be easier for me if you can give me a few extra details.

Thanks in Advance!

1) play with it. It takes several tries
2) if you want audio (music) through your bluthoth it will not work. For phone you must have Bluetooth enabled phone. Turn both on and enter 0000 or any four digit code that matches. Sometimes it take several tries .
3) yes you can upgrade Idrive just search, here is lot of info about this topic.
4) if you do not have navigation hardware in your idrine than upgrading software won't work unless you upgrade the hole idrive system
