Well done Bangle! Just this afternoon on my way home I found myself in front of a 06 gs430, I took the moment to look this car over while in action on the road and I have to say its nice but in no way is it comparable to our E60.I was putting my wife?s X5 In the garage and decided to do a couple circles around my 545 and I have to say In my opinion since day one I thought the exterior was undeniably the best 5 series so far. I'm now starting to think other then some exotics this car has no peers? exterior and engine wise. Nothing on the road feels like our 5 series. Has anyone noticed how the crease on the top half of the doors that runs along the body goes right into the eyebrows of the angel eyes? AWESOME!

Can't believe I spent 5 Boring months in that BORING 06 ACURA RL

Lastly when I was in school I always wanted a 5 series and had never even sat in one let alone driven one .I told myself the first one I'd ever drive would be mine?Well a month and a half ago I did just that bought a loaded e60 and told them give me the sport package and NO I don't want to test drive ?Who would have thought now id have just bought my wife a X5 and will never drive anything else other then a 5 series? And whenever the body style changes again ill be first in line. I'm hooked! !!!!

I know what you mean...I just put in my order, and this will be my fourth 5. Every one has been better than the last. The character and style of this car is just second to none. I'm sure there are a lot of good performance sedans out there, including some up-and-comers from Japan, but nothing beats the 5 Series!

I feel the same way. I starting following the E60 when there was only spy photos and I decided then that I loved what I saw. It's funny, but being a gadget guy, I knew I wanted it when I saw the 7 series iDrive. I knew the 5 would have one too and I decided I was buying the car way back then. That's why I joined this forum so early.

I did test drive the car though since I thought it was just a great excuse to get behind the wheel of one while waiting on my order to be filled. I cannot wait to get my next E60 late next month.

After years of driving two E39 540i 6-speeds many people saw my new car and would ask me how I liked it. My standard (and honest) answer was always, "BMW took the perfect car and perfected it!"

I agree. I finally decided to buy my first car at age 40 (I've always lived in the city since school, so I have saved the money), and I read so many car magazines that I narrowed it to a few. I drove the 545i sport-manual, then a 530i auto, non-sport. Then I asked to drive an S4 manual 4-door, and the dealer was terrible (didn't know his product, didn't seem to believe I really wanted one, told me he doesn't like giving test drives because it puts miles on cars), so I said forget it. (The S4 is a lot smaller in the back, anyhow. Baby seat &c. meant the E60 was a better idea anyhow.)

So I only drove 2 cars (both E60s), and couldn't resist the 545i manual. I still love this thing, 15 months and 15,000 miles later.

Agree - best car I've ever driven. I seem to be seeing a lot more on the road these days. There's another black one in the parking lot right now!
