I have a 2000 E39 528i. My Sister is wanting the car and the headlights are fogged over really bad. I bought two new halo ring headlights on ebay and when I went to change them I found that the car has HID Xenon headlights. Well, the new headlights won't fit from what I understand. I was going to try to adapt the HID to the new light assemblies but am wondering if the car has automatic headlight levelers? Does anyone know if they have the auto levelers? The new headlights I have are really sharp with the halo rings. I hate to not be able to use them.

All e39 with Xenon lights came with Auto level adjusters & headlight washers as standard. If you want to verify have a look at the right hand front suspension system & you'll see a little black box with a drop link connected to the lower suspension arm, you should be able to see it by turning the wheel out & having a look in.

The video below shows more detail.
