Hello all,
Have done the first oil and filter change with Pentosin but want to do another next week but am short of the Pentosin and cannot find anymore in Canada so am thinking to add two liters Mercon SP to the 5 ltr Pentosin I am going to put in the 6HP26.
And since the Lincoln Navigators use the same tran 6HP26 and use MERCON SP would this not be the same fluid as OEM BMW fluid AKA ZF LifeGuard6..........
So I would assume it is safe to mix in my situation.
I can get it for $11. ltr.
Anyone have any problem or thoughts about this?
thanks

Cant comment on the mixing part but when I did my change a couple weeks ago I used Mercon SP. It felt the same after. Unfortunately had an accident last week and waiting to hear if it is going to be a total or not...

Sorry to hear about your accident, the mix I currently am driving with I find has a better feel from the transmission, only a week but noticed much smoother performance thru-out with the current Pentosin/OEM 50-50 mix I have but want to do the second change to get at least 75% new oil.
If I can't get any real support for mixing the MERCON (which I think is good to use) into my current Pentosin/ZF mix maybe should play it safe and spring for the 120 bucks for 2 liters of the ZF fluid which I can still get my hands on...........just bugs me to pay 120 if 25 would get me the same stuff.
