For 3 years now my dealer has told me my car cannot be coded so that my WINDOWS and SUNROOF will close, using the remote key, after locking the car. I have been told:

such a feature is prohibited because of USA safety concerns;
because of legal concerns;
the E60 computer is not capable of such a task;
because the anti-pinch feature of the windows goes dead when the car is shut off such window closing it is not legal;
the DOT and other regulations prohibit such window closing;
BMW will not allow its dealerships to re-code for this feature.

None of the above is true.

This past Saturday fellow "5 SERIES.net" member Bazook_Joe was gracious enough to code my 2008 E60 and activated this feature - and he activated my constant on" DIGITAL" speedometer - and he removed the Legal Notice which splashes on my screen at start up. This took less than 5 minutes.

Thanks, Joe!!!

You have a digital speedometer? Now I need to reconsider about trading my car in for an LCI now.

Does anyone in the Bay Area perform this coding service? Really hate that Legal Notice screen at start up.

It shows up as an additional display mode on your onboard computer (velocity):

Not that I have seen anywhere.

The real answer is "no" but seems so absolute and I like to leave some room to be wrong

I haven't seen anyone showing it on the BC display via the BC button, but (just reminding) you can still use the hidden menu to access the coolant temp.

East Coast Tri-State goto John@ Motorcepts in Queens , NY. He did my coding: digital speedo, windows up, AE + fogs on welcome light. Great features, coding was well worth it!
