Even if the service manual is available, I guess it would be highly technical and beyong the comprehensive capability of many enthusiasts.

I would prefer, if I could get my hands on one, the full Parts Catalogue. This catalogue is on a CD ROM, the one that the parts executive refers to when you need a particular part over the counter.

This catalogue, lists the part number and pictures of the parts including wire harnesses (gives good clue as to what goes where), screws (clue to how to access, remove or add parts DIY). And along with the year of manufacture (of your car) you can't go wrong when you have the right part number!

This way, you would know, whether a missing part (option) could be retrofitted or not (if the retro-fit needs to have a wire harness fitted from the boot to the dash or requires very specific tools and programming, one may want to forget about it).

Otherwise, the service manual may only be needed if one needs to overhaul the car!

Ouch! $300 a month, or $2500 US annually? Wow, must be some magic/secret spells hidden in that site!

James
It is $2,500 for a year subscription and $300 for a month, but for $25 you get 24 hours of access and can print out all sorts of things. A $25 hit every now and then is not that bad to access this information IMHO.
