Okay, got the new baby this morning...

Installed the V1 from the 528 in about 10 minutes... Had no problem hardwiring into the 528 or new 535, but I can't get power on the new 535.

I installed the hot wire from the "box" to the green/yellow on the "core" wire wrap in the headliner... I secured the ground to the torx screw in the metal box for the sunroof. That's where I think I may have a problem.

Has anyone installed to that torx screw? Is it grounded? Even if the ground wire isn't completely grounded I should still get power, no? Should I just back it and put it on the bolt to the left of the opening?

Thanks!

First, congrats on the new ride.

You should still get power even if not grounded fully, are you sure you have a connection to the green/yellow line? Did you try to reset it to a differnt spot on the line and snap it in tight?

Yep. I first snapped it into the green/yellow on the cluster that runs to the sunroof plug. That is a thinner wire, so I retried it on the core stalk that comes through to feed everything. Again, green/yellow.

I may try to get the smallest tap in available from Radio Shack tomorrow.

I even rechecked orientation and re-installed the new phone jack ends on the power cord.

First tomorrow, try the alt ground screw. Next, get the smaller tap in.,

535's wireing is different that all the other e60's in that area ( don't know why) check some of the DIY's there should be one towards the back of one tread that some one finally found the correct wire. I think it may ( don't quote me) be brown and goes to the sun roof. The Infamous Green /yellow wire will either not work or give you trap errors on the sun roof. Just read a couple treads in the DIY section if you don't believe me.

A lot of the LCI 535i guy have run in to this when hard wireing v1's.

Search function in Forums work wonders! LOL

Here is a post where I mention the Red/Yellow wire (with pics) however it may be always hot.
