Thoughts on my V1 Setup....Opinion is needed!
My new baby aka 07 550i, see specs below, is hitting the port this week. I am going to be hardwiring my V1 to the car and I wanted to know what you guys thought about how I was going to set it up. I was going to mount the actual detector on the right hand side of the mirror and then run the power wire along the headliner and down the A-Pillar to the fuse box. On the left side of the mirror was where I was going to the mount the consealed display. It would be high enough for a cop not to see it and also it would see very easy to see if my visor was in the down position, on the drivers side naturally. Questions: Has anyone does this setup before? How well does the consealed display work? Is there a time delay? Do most people run it down to the fuse box? Are the wires that come with the V1 good enough or do I have to buy different ones? Does the consealed display come with something that it can be mounted to the windshield? Thanks for everything!!!!!
P.S. I have a B7 available if anyone is interested. See below!

There is no reason to run wires all the way down your pillar to the fuse box. You can hardwire the Valentine 1 into the wires above the rearview mirror. There is a DIY thread in this forum which shows you exactly how to do it. If you are mounting your V1 on the windshield above you rearview mirror, then there is no reason to install the concealed display, either.

I was going to install the consealed display so I would never have to look to that side of the car.
Do you look at the rearview mirror? Having the V1 above the rearview mirror is no harder to see than checking cars behind you before a lane change.

Another option, but a pricey one is a custom mirror. There is a company here in NYC that does it, I just have to look around. Alot of the guys on the M3 forums I am a member of have gotten these custom rear-view mirrors wth the V1 arrows and LED lights etched into the mirro glass. I will look around for a puicture. You have to conceal the V1 electronics in the bumpers etc but it is a true custom setup with no hints of the detector to law enforcement.

AI Design in Westchester County NY does it. It's around $3,500 and i'm not going that route. Thanks though!
