Hi all
Just recently added a Infifnty basslink II powered sub-woofer to my 530D saloon car. The sub works a real treat!!! very easy to install, due to the sub allowing high level inputs directly from the rear speaks with just the power to connect up, directly from the battery.
Total install time was just 2hours!!
Problem is... the sound does not penitrate into the cabin of the car, with all the bass being limited to just the boot section.
I don't have a ski hatch to open, and wondered if anybody had a suggestion to how to improve the sound within the cabin.
Looking at the armrest, there is a possability of placing a port hole at the base of the armrest - near the hindge.
has anybody tried this?
Don't really want to start drilling the interior of the car, unless a significant inprovment would be gained.
any ideas?

there has been alot of previous thread about this. what I was suggested by audio shops to do was to cut the metal under the rear speakers in the trunk so more bass flow could travel into the cabin, but that custom job will cost me 1k. search around this forum and you will find your answer!

Uhh yeah, these cars are pretty well insulated as you found out the hard way. There's really not too much that can be done though. I wouldn't recommend cutting anything but in order to get more sound through to the cabin that's just about your only choice. Unless you get a more powerful subwoofer, or you get the Earthquake SWS-8 subs for underneath your seats.

First try to reverse the + and - wire. It should make your sub hit in reverse, there's a word for it, I don't remember. That solved the problem for me when I was using Kickers with Rockford amp. Now I'm trying to find some SWS-8. Maybe put the subs in the car instead, but not sure yet.
