Need to add some steering fluid to my 6er, anybody knows what brand/spec to use?
I'm not replacing, just adding, so it had to be compatible with whatever is in there already (I assume it is BMW OEM or whatever they use).

Thanks! Yep, that is exactly what they use. Stopped by my dealer today and they added the fluid free of charge, but they said they can't sell it to me - weird. But its not like I'm going to need it often.

Can't sell it to you!? That is weird. I bought a can of Pentosin CHF 11S from my dealer for $24. You can find it online for about the same price.

is there a leak or does the car use steering fluid normally like engine oil?

He told me that it (get this!) evaporates over time through the lines. I told him he is crazy, and he said that this is what BMW techs told them. Whatever :-)
There is no leak in my car for sure, so (maybe) he is right? I don't know.

Alex, did you end up purchasing a can of "Pentosin CHF 11S", or did your dealer top it off?

Seems like my car could use some as well. I'm considering ordering a can online ... I'm too lazy to drive to the dealership, especially if they're not willing to sell it to you.
