Let me begin by saying that I searched the site quite a bit, and I did read the thread with step by step on resetting Oil and Microfilter, and have been successful in reseting both.

My question is about resetting "State Inspection" warning.

When I get into the service menu and click until the State Insepction logo shows up, if I then press the trip reset again -- nothing happens. No "RESET" appears.

What am I doing wrong? Is there a different process for resetting this service message? Please help!

Thanks

That is so simple...just remember you must push down the i-drive knob for setting first the month and push again to set the year.

I am also having difficulty setting the inspection date in order to turn off the service light on start up. I attempted it in the idrive menus but it wont take. I put in my new desire date and when I try to save it the date goes back to the old date which is 01/1970. And I find that to be extremely strange! Why would a car made in 2006 ever have had that date entered for an emissions inspection date 1970?
